Wow it's been awhile

LOL Well I am the worlds worst blogger :) I haven’t' done a post since January, and it's not because I don't have things to talk about because you all know I always have plenty to say

So starting it off, I got laid off at the end of June. Which SUCKED, but I found a new job and surprisingly I love it. Which is good considering all the benefits I lost to take it, but it pays my bills and I'm thrilled to have it. My family and friends where awesome throughout the 5 weeks of unemployment, thanks a bunch.

That was pretty much the only big thing that happened throughout the summer. Which seriously, how is it already over :( It's so sad when the warm summer starts giving way to fall. It always depresses me for some reason. Actually I know the reason, I look better with a tan :)

Last weekend I did something that will shock pretty much everyone who knows me. I hiked Mt. Timpanogos's summit (second highest peak in the Wasatch), which is roughly 15 miles round trip and 4,600 vertical feet. Elizabeth a really good friend of mine and her husband Ryan had wanted to do it for awhile, they got a group together and invited me. To say that I’m not a hiker is not getting the point across. I have been on two hikes in my life, both of which I turned around long before I made it to the destination. But for some crazy reason I just wanted to see if I could do it. And I wanted to see the view from the top.

I had to get up at 5:00 AM to meet at Elizabeth’s house. By the time everyone got there, drove to the trail head and got our packs on, we were on the trail by 8:00. I’ve always known UT was pretty but walking through the mountains in the early morning at the beginning of fall is something else altogether. Some of the leaves had started to change so it was really nice to see all of the colors.

I would love to tell you that I enjoyed every minute and would totally do it again but that would be a lie, if it weren’t for Lizzy pushing me on I would have turned around. The last portion getting to the summit was a little bit scary for me. The trail was very narrow going up the shoot. The only way to describe it was a little bit of rock climbing lol and all I kept thinking was that I had to go back down it, I’ve never been afraid of heights but I was that day. It was FREZZING COLD at the top, and the wind was blowing like crazy but the view was so amazing that you almost didn’t notice it.

It was a huge accomplishment for me, I am really happy that I made it the entire way and didn’t turn around. But I do believe that next weekend you can find me on my couch reading a book and not on top of a mountain!!!!!!!!!

It's my birthday

Where to begin? The month of January FLEW by. I've been trying to hit the gym pretty hard, and I even started playing racquetball with my neighbor and her nephew. They are really really good, I on the other hand am really really bad :) But it's a great workout so I think I will continue playing even if I am making an @ss out of myself.
Last weekend was probably one of the best in my life. My whole family was in SLC, even Shauna, Rhett and the girls. Rhett had an interview with IHC and they decided to fly the whole family in from North Carolina. In return my mom, Dean, Heather, Heidi and Kevin and their kids decided to come up from Salina and see them. It was soooooooo fun and so great to be able to hang out with ALL of my sisters at the same time. I miss them so much when they aren't here, it's just not the same without them.

So while they where here they decided to throw me a Surprise 30th birthday party :) Which was kind of funny because Cheri's birthday was the day before my party. Needless to say I was SURPRISED. Anybody who knows me, knows that I love to karaoke. So when we were all at dinner and Heidi leaned over and said that maybe we could go out after dinner and all the kids got settled down, I of course suggested karaoke. Heidi agreed that when we had gone there for Rhett's 30th and had a blast that we should go there again. I was thrilled!!!!!!
We got ready and headed off to do some singing :) When I walked in and saw the balloons and my parents and Heather sitting there I just about died. I was so shocked when I saw them I turned around to Heidi, Kevin, Shauna and Rhett with a look on my face like "oh my gosh we've just been busted by our parents". It was like I was a teenager again lol

I'm not very good at Blogging yet

I just logged on to see what was happening in the lives of others :) I had a comment on my last post so I looked at it. It was from Deidre, and when I read it I burst out laughing. She was telling me that we've been friends since we were little kids and I spelled her name wrong and needed to fix it... LOL I'm going to have to admit that Shauna had to log in under me and add some stuff for me, because I was at work and couldn't figure it out. Well Shauna spelled her name wrong, not me, but I'll be damned if I can figure out how to comment on Deidre's page to tell her this. So I did a new post to let her know :) I did manage to figure out how to change her name on my page though, thank goodness I didn't have to call anybody. You know I consider myself to be pretty computer savvy, but blog spot's been kicking my butt lol

Oh and I also wanted to show you all what my bestest friend Lisa sent me for my birthday and Christmas...

She took a picture of my dogs to a local artist in Jacksonville FL and they put it on canvas and then painted it (as Lisa likes to say "they JAZZED it up") It's a one of a kind :) My Nephew Landon burst out laughing when I opened it on Christmas Morning. My family loves to give me crap about how much I love my puppies. But they're always happy to see me, no matter what kind of mood I am in ;)

Last night was NYE and I rang it in at the Tyser's house. I was only missing a few things, Shauna and Rhett and Andrea. It wasn't quite the same without them, but it was a lot of fun!!!!! Thanks Katie :)

Oh hell, I already had to change my layout. I did my page, thinking "oh how cute... I am sooo stylish." Then I went to Heidi's blog to check out her update and sure enough we had the same background lol... Great minds and all :)

As Promised

Well Christmas has come and gone. I got a new computer and as I promised my sisters, i started a blog with it :) I had a fantastic Christmas, I was SPOILED ROTTEN. I can't even believe the stuff I got, one of the items I received was a guitar from my two favorite and best co-workers/friends. Seriously a GUITAR and the guitar basics for dummies book. As soon as it is shipped to me I will start my lessons. This will bring hours of entertainment to the readers of this blog, for one I am sure that a slew of cuss words will be coming out of my mouth and I will tell you all about it :) it should be fun. That's it for now :)
